About Google Summer of CodeTM 2008




In 2007, the program Google Summer of Code. TM. brought together 900 students and nearly 1,500 mentors from 90 countries, giving them the opportunity to participate in more than 130 different open source projects. We are looking for mentors and students who wish to join us in an effort to make the Summer of Code 2008 is even better! .


Program Google Summer of Code is designed to familiarizing students to participate in projects with open source. Beginning in 2005, the program has several objectives:.

● Inspire young developers to participate in the creation of software with open source.
● Provide the students of Computer Science, the opportunity to work in fields related to their research during the summer.
● to involve students in the process of development of real software systems (distributed development, licensing issues, etiquette email newsletters, etc. n. ).

● To help attract new developers in open source projects.
